Youth Acting for Change, Nepal (YAC- Nepal) is a non-profitable NGO registered in District Administration Office Kailali that has been working in Sudurpaschim province of Nepal since 2004 with focus on promotion of Human Right to Food, improving livelihood of poor vulnerable and socially excluded people through community led action for Governance and justice. YAC Nepal currently implementing Project “Strengthening the Right to Food in Sudurpaschim Province” of Nepal for 3 years period up to 30 November 2025 with overarching goal contributes to “vulnerable communities in Sudurpaschim Province enjoyed their Right to Food and strengthened their Socio-economic situation”. Key focus of program interventions is capacity building related to Right to Food, Documentation & case work of RtF Violated cases, Awareness Creation, Advocacy & Monitoring towards realization of Human Right to Adequate Food. YAC Nepal hereby invites applications from highly motivated, dynamic and result oriented qualified Nepalese citizen for the following position based in Dhangadhi, Kailali with frequent travel to field in all nine districts of Sudurpaschim province.

Position: Senior Project Officer                       –  Required No – 1 (one)

Based Station: YAC Nepal, Dhangadhi, Kailali (Frequently field visit to overall districts of Sudurpaschim Province)

General Position Summary: She/he will be responsible mainly for program strategy development, project design, concept, and proposal development. Develop and maintain strategic and functional relationship with three tire governments unit, CSOs, and build coordination with diverse funding agencies. She/He mostly responsible to provide backup support to project team in planning, implementation, and monitoring the project ensuring the project outcomes. She/he should produce activity progress report, annual narrative, and final report of Right to Food project as per Bread for the World (BftW) standard in close coordination with Monitoring Documentation Officer and Project Coordinator. She/he will work closely with Executive Director and assist ED for promoting visibility of YAC Nepal. The incumbent should have a strong commitment to teamwork and, accountability and promote work environment that fosters respect for each other.  She/he must have demonstrated leadership in integrating, promoting, and achieving equity, diversity, and inclusion in the area of work and in the workplace. Multi-tasking, problem solving and simultaneous attention to detail and strategic vision are essential.

Qualification and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, environment science, public administration, social sciences, or similar field, preferably a master’s degree from recognized university.
  • Excellent command on writing and speaking in both English and Nepali language along with computer skills on office package and internet.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of human right, food security, livelihood, climate change/DRR and social mobilization with strong and excellent analytical skills and sound judgement are required. He/ she must have skill, knowledge, and experience in designing proposals, program strategy, negotiation, and a good understanding on national and international socio-economic context, SDG, and ESCR.
  • Two-wheeler driving license is preferred with having good driving skill.
