Youth Acting for Change, Nepal (YAC- Nepal) is a non-profitable NGO registered in District Administration Office Kailali that has been working in Sudurpaschim province of Nepal since 2004 with focus on promotion of Human Right to Food, improving livelihood of poor vulnerable and socially excluded people through community led action for Governance and justice. YAC Nepal currently implementing Project “Strengthening the Right to Food in Sudurpaschim Province” of Nepal for 3 year period up to 2022 November. Key focus of program interventions are: capacity building related to Right to Food, Documentation & case work of RtF Violated cases, Awareness Creation, Advocacy & Monitoring towards realization of Human Right to Adequate Food. YAC Nepal is seeking applications from highly motivated, dynamic and result oriented qualified Nepalese citizen for the following position based in Dhangadhi, Kailali with frequent travel to field in all nine districts of Sudurpaschim province.

1) Project Officer – 1 (one)


She/he will responsible for planning the project activity, implementation and monitoring of progress of projects in view of indicators, monitoring frame, and outcomes. Document RtF violation cases by collecting and analyzing the socio-economic situation of the community interms of human right perspective. Organize different capacity building related training, workshop and interaction to the representatives from RTF violated community, Struggle committee and CSO Right to food network about concept of human right to adequate food, its tools and instrument, ESCR, and government policy programs and claiming process. Building coordination and linkages with government unit at all level and other stakeholders. Prepare event reports, case stories, document best practices, field experiences, and other advocacy materials.

Qualification and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Law, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or similar field, preferably Masters Degree from recognized University.
  • Excellent command on writing and speaking in both English and Nepali language along computer skill on office package and internet.
  • At least 3 years Experience on in the field of human right, food security, livelihood, climate change and social mobilization with strong leadership skill, good knowledge on designing social survey, data analyses, sampling technique, and Report writing. Good understanding on national and international socio-economic context, SDG, and ESCR.
  • License holder of two wheeler is mandatory with having good driving skill.
